What's Happening?
NGEx Minerals Ltd. has announced the completion of its Phase 4 drilling program at the Lunahuasi copper-gold-silver project in San Juan Province, Argentina. The program, which drilled 27,318 meters across 32 holes, has confirmed the presence of high-grade
copper zones, particularly in the Mars and Saturn areas. Notable results include intersections of 94 meters at 8.99% copper equivalent in the Mars zone and 327.4 meters at 3.74% copper equivalent in the Saturn zone. The drilling has also identified two new high-grade zones, expanding the potential of the Lunahuasi system. Additionally, NGEx received environmental approval for an exploration adit, which will facilitate further underground exploration and development.
Why It's Important?
The successful completion of the Phase 4 drilling program at Lunahuasi is significant for NGEx Minerals as it enhances the project's potential for high-grade copper extraction. The discovery of new mineralized zones could lead to increased resource estimates, potentially boosting the company's valuation and attractiveness to investors. The environmental approval for the exploration adit is a critical step, allowing for year-round operations and deeper exploration, which could further define the project's scope and economic viability. This development positions NGEx to advance its exploration efforts and potentially increase its market share in the copper industry.
What's Next?
NGEx plans to release the remaining assay results from the Phase 4 drilling by the third quarter of 2026. The company is preparing for a Phase 5 drilling program, expected to commence in the fourth quarter of 2026, which will focus on further exploration and definition of the newly identified high-grade zones. The construction of the exploration adit is also anticipated to begin, pending the receipt of additional permits. These steps are crucial for advancing the Lunahuasi project towards potential development and production.
