Blaze Energy, in collaboration with lomarlabs, is set to pilot a multi-fuel reforming system on a Lomar vessel. This system, known as the Flex-Fuel Reformer, converts ammonia, methanol, or LNG into hydrogen directly onboard ships, enabling engines to operate
on hydrogen blends. This innovation aims to address the maritime industry's need for fuel flexibility amidst tightening regulations like the EU Emissions Trading System. The pilot will validate the system's effectiveness in real marine conditions, with initial tests focusing on ammonia. The project seeks to offer shipowners a way to reduce emissions while maintaining operational flexibility.
