What's Happening?
Young musicians from Oʻahu, under the guidance of Kailua Music School, are preparing to release a new album titled 'Landslide Volume One'. The album, which is written and performed entirely by local talent, will be available on all major streaming platforms
starting April 11. The school, co-founded by Erin Smith, has been nurturing young talent for decades, offering instrument lessons and opportunities to perform in real venues. The album features a variety of bands, including Nevermind, whose song 'Until We Win' has already been previewed on the airwaves.
Why It's Important?
The release of 'Landslide Volume One' highlights the vibrant music scene in Oʻahu and the role of educational institutions like Kailua Music School in fostering young talent. This initiative not only provides a platform for young musicians to showcase their work but also contributes to the cultural and artistic landscape of Hawaii. By supporting local talent, the school helps sustain the music industry and encourages the development of future artists, which can have a lasting impact on the community and the broader music industry.
