The Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, part of the New York Public Library, celebrated its 100th anniversary with a gala event. The event, held at the NYPL's Stephen A. Schwarzman Building, honored notable figures such as Angela Bassett,
Solange Knowles, Henry Louis Gates, Jr., Nikole Hannah-Jones, and Edwidge Danticat. The gala featured performances by The Abyssinian Baptist Church of Harlem's choir and a dance by Batalá New York. Guests enjoyed a menu curated by chef Gregory Gourdet, and the event highlighted the cultural and educational significance of the Schomburg Center.
