for Arizona Compass Prep and Elev8 Academy, and was nominated as a McDonald’s All-American. Additionally, Martinez has international experience with the Mexican Under-17 national team. His commitment comes as new Syracuse head coach Gerry McNamara seeks to rebuild the team's center lineup following the graduation of William Kyle III and the transfers of Akir Souare and Tiefing Diawara. Martinez had offers from several other schools, including Cal State-Northridge, Sacramento State, Missouri-Kansas City, and High Point.
