The NFC Forum has announced the creation of a Healthcare Special Interest Group (SIG) aimed at promoting the use of near field communication (NFC) technology within the healthcare sector. This initiative is designed to support secure, interoperable, and
regulatory-compliant NFC applications across medical devices, pharmaceutical packaging, and healthcare delivery systems. The SIG will focus on cybersecurity, standards development, and validating new healthcare use cases to improve patient safety and enable reliable device-to-device interactions.
