What's Happening?
PLT Training, a specialist in health and safety education, has invested £1.25 million to establish a new 'centre of excellence' in Oldbury. Founded by Nicc Bennett in 2006, the company has expanded its
operations by purchasing an 82,250 square foot facility on Pearsall Drive. This new space includes classrooms and six specialized zones for training in areas such as forklifts, advanced working at height, manual handling, first aid, and confined spaces. The move marks a significant milestone for the company, which serves over 1,500 companies annually, including major employers like Assa Abloy and Red Bull Racing. The expansion allows PLT Training to accommodate more than 10,000 learners each year, enhancing its capacity to deliver over 150 different courses.
Why It's Important?
The investment in the new training centre underscores the growing importance of health and safety in the workplace. By expanding its facilities, PLT Training is better positioned to meet the increasing demand for comprehensive safety training across various industries. This development not only enhances the company's ability to provide high-quality education but also supports businesses in maintaining safer work environments. As companies prioritize employee safety, investments like these can lead to reduced workplace incidents and increased productivity. The expansion also reflects a broader trend of businesses investing in employee well-being as a means to boost overall performance and compliance with safety regulations.
What's Next?
PLT Training plans to further enhance its Oldbury facility by introducing overhead crane facilities and PASMA courses. The company is also exploring acquisition opportunities to expand its geographic reach. As the demand for specialized training continues to grow, PLT Training aims to adapt and expand its offerings to meet the evolving needs of its clients. The company anticipates hiring additional staff to support its expanded operations, ensuring that it can continue to deliver high-quality training to a diverse range of industries.
