Billionaire software entrepreneur David Duffield has pledged $371.5 million to Cornell University, his alma mater, to establish two endowments within the School of Electrical and Computing Engineering. The school will be renamed the Cornell David A. Duffield College of Engineering. The endowments, known as the Duffield Legacy Fund and the Duffield Launch Fund, will support education and research programs in quantum engineering, artificial intelligence, and other fields.
