Stellantis NV and Zhejiang Leapmotor Technology Co., Ltd. have announced their intention to expand their strategic partnership through several initiatives aimed at enhancing their collaboration. Stellantis, which acquired a 21% stake in Leapmotor in October
2023, has been working with Leapmotor International, a joint venture with a 51% stake held by Stellantis, to sell and manufacture Leapmotor products outside Greater China. The partnership has seen success in Europe, with over 40,000 shipments in 2025 and expansion into South America, Asia-Pacific, and the Middle East and Africa. The companies are now considering increasing production at Stellantis' Figueruelas plant in Spain, potentially adding a new line for Opel's C-SUV BEV model and Leapmotor's C-SUV B10 model. Additionally, they plan to enhance purchasing cooperation to boost price competitiveness and consider new vehicle allocations at the Villaverde plant in Madrid.
