What's Happening?
RIBER, a leader in molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) equipment for the semiconductor industry, reported its full-year revenues for 2025, amounting to €40.3 million. This performance aligns with the company's
guidance and reflects strong activity in production systems and the introduction of the ROSIE platform, a new MBE solution for silicon photonics. The company saw stable revenues from MBE systems at €30.9 million, with the delivery of 12 machines, including the first ROSIE platform. Revenue from services and accessories was slightly down at €9.4 million, attributed to budgetary restrictions in the U.S., but showed recovery in the latter half of the year. Geographically, revenue distribution shifted, with Europe and North America increasing their shares, while Asia's share decreased. The order book at the end of 2025 was €26.9 million, a 24% increase from the previous year, indicating strong future demand.
Why It's Important?
RIBER's performance highlights the growing demand for advanced semiconductor equipment, particularly in the context of expanding technologies like quantum computing and 5G networks. The introduction of the ROSIE platform signifies a significant advancement in silicon photonics, which is crucial for data centers and telecommunications. The company's ability to maintain stable revenues despite economic challenges in the U.S. underscores its strategic positioning in the global semiconductor market. The increased order book suggests robust future growth, driven by technological advancements and diversification of market reach. This growth is vital for stakeholders in the semiconductor industry, as it supports the development of cutting-edge technologies and infrastructure.
What's Next?
Looking ahead, RIBER anticipates continued strong demand for its MBE production systems, particularly for quantum dot lasers used in data centers. The company plans to industrialize and ramp up the ROSIE platform, targeting high-potential markets in silicon-based integrated photonics. The development of ROSIE 2, a dual-chamber version, and the availability of new thin film samples for scientific and industrial use are key milestones in RIBER's roadmap. The company aims for revenue growth in 2026, contingent on securing necessary export licenses. RIBER will announce its 2025 full-year earnings on April 8, 2026.
