What's Happening?
ZetrOZ Systems is introducing its sustained acoustic medicine (sam®) technology to professional baseball's spring training. The wearable ultrasound device is designed to help athletes recover from common injuries such as UCL tears and hamstring pulls.
The technology, which has been proven effective in clinical studies, aims to reduce recovery time and improve performance. ZetrOZ Systems is collaborating with the Professional Baseball Athletic Trainers Society to educate teams on the benefits of the device, which is FDA-cleared for daily home use.
Why It's Important?
The introduction of this technology could significantly impact how injuries are managed in professional sports, particularly baseball. With injuries peaking during spring training, the sam® device offers a non-invasive alternative to traditional treatments, potentially reducing the reliance on pain medication. This could lead to healthier athletes and longer careers, as well as cost savings for teams. The technology's effectiveness in accelerating recovery could also enhance team performance by keeping key players in the game.
What's Next?
ZetrOZ Systems plans to meet with more teams during spring training to demonstrate the benefits of their technology. If widely adopted, the sam® device could become a standard tool in sports medicine, not only in baseball but across other sports as well. The company may also explore expanding its technology to other markets, including amateur sports and general healthcare, to provide broader access to its benefits.
