Neon has acquired the worldwide rights to 'Clarissa', a modern reimagining of Virginia Woolf's novel 'Mrs. Dalloway'. The film stars Sophie Okonedo, David Oyelowo, India Amarteifio, Ayo Edebiri, and Toheeb Jimoh. Directed by Arie and Chuko Esiri, the film was shot on 35mm film in Nigeria. 'Clarissa' follows the story of a society woman, played by Okonedo, who hosts a party at her home in Lagos, Nigeria. During the event, she encounters friends from her youth, leading to reflections on their past relationships and aspirations. The film is produced by Chuko Esiri, Arie Esiri, Theresa Park, and Nicholas Weinstock, with financing from Afreximbank Creative Africa Nexus and MBO Capital.
