The Alfred P. Sloan Foundation has announced ten finalists for its 2025 Sloan Student Prizes, part of a nationwide film program. These student filmmakers, hailing from various universities across the United
States, will compete for the prestigious Sloan Student Grand Jury Prize. The finalists will receive mentorship from industry professionals to refine their screenplays, which integrate science or technology themes. The awards ceremony, featuring work-in-progress readings by professional actors, is scheduled for early 2026 at the Museum of the Moving Image (MoMI). The Grand Jury and Discovery Prizes include a $20,000 cash award and year-round mentorship from a scientist and a film industry professional.
