What's Happening?
During the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, attendees had the opportunity to experience a ride in the Goodyear blimp. The blimp, stationed at the Jacqueline Cochran Regional Airport in Thermal,
California, provided a unique aerial view of the festival. Los Angeles Times reporter Mikael Wood, along with colleagues Rebecca Castillo and Kayla Bartkowski, were invited to take a cruise over the desert festival. The ride, which lasted about 30 minutes, offered views of festival-goers, including a group of Beliebers camped out near the main stage in anticipation of Justin Bieber's performance. The blimp ride was described as gentle, akin to a boat ride in a harbor.
Why It's Important?
The Goodyear blimp's presence at Coachella adds a distinctive element to the festival experience, offering attendees a rare perspective of the event from above. This initiative by Goodyear not only promotes their brand but also enhances the festival's appeal by providing a memorable experience. The aerial view allows festival-goers to appreciate the scale and atmosphere of Coachella, potentially increasing interest and attendance in future events. Additionally, the blimp serves as a floating billboard, capturing the attention of thousands of attendees and reinforcing Goodyear's brand visibility.
