Segilola Resources Operating Limited (SROL), Nigeria's first large-scale gold mining company, has expanded its Livelihood Restoration Programme by launching the first phase of its Plantain Rehabilitation Programme and advancing its Cocoa Rehabilitation Programme to its third
phase. This initiative aims to provide agricultural support to 100 farmers across its host communities in Osun State. The handover ceremony took place at the New Iperindo Town Hall, attended by traditional rulers, community leaders, and stakeholders. The program is part of SROL's commitment to sustainable community development, focusing on creating long-term economic opportunities by supporting agriculture and promoting environmentally sustainable income-generating activities. Since 2023, SROL has implemented various initiatives, including fish and vegetable farming, to restore and improve the livelihoods of project-affected persons. The current phases of the rehabilitation programs involve distributing high-yield seedlings and agrochemicals to beneficiaries, enhancing productivity and income generation.
