Mira Costa High School's girls' beach volleyball team claimed the Southern Section Division 1 title by sweeping JSerra 5-0. The championship match took place at Long Beach City College, where Mira Costa's top duo, Ruby Cochrane and Olga Nikolaeva, led
a comeback in the deciding set. This victory marks Mira Costa's third title in four years since the sport was sanctioned by the CIF. The team has a strong record, having won 75 out of 78 matches in CIF Southern Section competition.
