What's Happening?
The Stardust Fertility Foundation recently celebrated its fourth anniversary with a gala event in Manhattan, marking significant achievements in supporting Jewish families in the tristate area. Founded by Jenn Leffell, Alyssa Kolatch, and Alex Peyser,
the foundation provides financial assistance for fertility treatments such as IVF and surrogacy. The gala, held at Chelsea Piers, was attended by 300 guests, including children born with the help of the foundation's grants. Sandye Rosenbloom Rudnitzky, the first person in the U.S. to use a gestational surrogate, was honored with the 'Stardust Trailblazer Award'. Since its inception, the foundation has raised $2 million and supported around 100 recipients, ranging from young couples to LGBTQ individuals and single women seeking to have Jewish children.
Why It's Important?
The Stardust Fertility Foundation addresses a critical need within the Jewish community by providing financial support for fertility treatments, which are often prohibitively expensive. This initiative not only helps individuals and couples overcome infertility challenges but also supports the continuation of Jewish heritage and culture. By focusing on a diverse range of recipients, including LGBTQ individuals and single parents, the foundation promotes inclusivity and diversity within the community. The foundation's efforts highlight the importance of accessible fertility treatments and the role of philanthropy in supporting family-building efforts.
