Sigma Foods SAB de CV, a Mexican consumer packaged goods company, has announced the acquisition of Roger Wood Foods LLC, a U.S.-based smoked meats producer. The acquisition, which was finalized on April 28, marks Sigma's first manufacturing presence in the southeastern
United States. Roger Wood Foods, known as the leading smoked sausage company in the region, generates approximately $50 million in annual sales through its plant located in Savannah, Georgia. The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed. Jesus Lobo, CEO of Sigma US, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, emphasizing the company's commitment to preserving Roger Wood's legacy and accelerating its growth. Sigma Foods operates in 17 countries and manages 65 production plants, 191 distribution centers, and a fleet of over 8,000 vehicles.
