What's Happening?
Navoi Mining & Metallurgical Company (NMMC) has announced the commissioning of a new grinding mill at its Hydrometallurgical Plant No. 3, as part of its ongoing investment projects at the Kokpatas and Daugyztau gold deposits. This development is part of Phase III of the Ore Mining project, aimed at enhancing production capacities. The newly commissioned Grinding Mill No. 8 has an annual processing capacity of 700,000 tons of gold-bearing ore. The mill and its components were manufactured locally at the Navoi Machine-Building Plant, with construction carried out by the Zarafshan Construction Unit and the Northern Administration Unit. The commissioning ceremony was attended by NMMC management and plant employees.
Why It's Important?
The commissioning of the new grinding
mill is a significant step for NMMC in increasing its gold production capabilities. With the new mill, the company aims to boost its ore processing volumes from over 10 million tonnes last year to 10.8 million tonnes this year. This expansion not only enhances NMMC's production efficiency but also supports local manufacturing and construction sectors, as the mill and its parts were produced domestically. The increased production capacity could potentially lead to higher gold output, impacting the local economy and contributing to the global gold supply.
What's Next?
Following the commissioning of the new grinding mill, NMMC is likely to focus on optimizing its operations to achieve the targeted increase in ore processing volumes. The company may also continue to invest in further expanding its production capacities and improving its technological infrastructure. Stakeholders, including local suppliers and construction units, may benefit from ongoing and future projects, fostering economic growth in the region.
