What's Happening?
The South Coast Community Chorale is set to present its 2025 holiday concerts titled 'A Holiday Celebration' on December 13 and 14. The performances will feature Haydn's 'Lord Nelson Mass' alongside popular
seasonal pieces such as 'The Most Wonderful Time of the Year,' 'Chanukah Prayer,' 'Holiday Road of Carols,' 'Yule Be Swingin’,' and 'Sleigh Ride.' The first concert will be held at St. Thomas More Church in Somerset, while the second will take place at St. Joseph’s Church in Fall River. Tickets are available for $15 in advance and $20 at the door, with free admission for children under 12. The chorale, directed by Frank Wilhelm, is based in Fall River and includes members from surrounding communities. It performs two major concerts annually and awards a scholarship to a local student pursuing a music career.
Why It's Important?
The South Coast Community Chorale's holiday concerts provide an opportunity for community engagement and cultural enrichment through music. By featuring classical works like Haydn's 'Lord Nelson Mass' alongside popular holiday tunes, the chorale offers a diverse musical experience that appeals to a wide audience. These events not only celebrate the holiday season but also support local arts and education through the chorale's scholarship program. The concerts serve as a platform for local musicians to showcase their talents and for the community to come together in celebration of the arts.
