Sparx Group has announced the launch of the Mirai Creation Fund IV, a venture capital initiative based in Japan. This fund is backed by major financial institutions including Toyota, SMBC, MUFG Bank, and Mizuho Bank, with an initial commitment of JP¥15
billion (approximately US$96 million). The fund aims to reach a total size of JP¥100 billion (US$640 million) by March 2027, with investment management operations set to begin in June 2026. The fund will focus on investing in unlisted venture companies both within and outside Japan, specifically targeting four key areas: intelligent technologies, robotics, carbon neutrality, and space. The inclusion of the space category is a new addition, achieved by integrating the scope of Sparx's separate Space Frontier Fund into this new vehicle. This marks a narrowing of focus from the previous Mirai Creation Fund III, which covered six categories.
