What's Happening?
Salomon, a mountain sports brand owned by Amer Sports, has opened its first store in Brooklyn, New York, located at 127 N. 6th Street in the Williamsburg neighborhood. The 1,120-square-foot store features Salomon's Sportstyle product assortment, including shoes and accessories, in a modern storefront with natural elements. Jenny Taylor, vice president of marketing for Salomon North America, emphasized the brand's commitment to connecting customers to nature and noted the importance of Brooklyn in blending individual style and performance. The new store is part of Salomon's broader U.S. strategy, marking its fifth location in North America, joining stores in SoHo, Chicago, Woodbury Common Premium Outlets, and Los Angeles.
Why It's Important?
The opening of Salomon's
Brooklyn store represents a significant milestone in the brand's U.S. retail strategy, enhancing its presence in a city known for shaping global culture in sport, fashion, and outdoor exploration. This expansion aligns with Salomon's goal to better serve its customers by making its products accessible in key neighborhoods. The move comes as Amer Sports reported strong third-quarter earnings, with Salomon's footwear momentum continuing across all regions, particularly in Asia. The brand's connection with younger consumers, especially women, positions it for significant profitable growth next year, contributing to its overall success in the sports style market.
What's Next?
Salomon plans to continue its expansion strategy by identifying and entering new locations that align with its customer base and brand identity. The company aims to capitalize on the growing demand for its products, particularly in the run specialty channel in North America, EMEA, and China. As Salomon deepens its presence in influential markets like New York City, it is poised to further strengthen its position in the global sports style industry, leveraging its connection with younger consumers and the ongoing popularity of athleisure.
