What's Happening?
The Wisconsin Rapids Area Convention & Visitors Bureau has announced the return of the Rapids Revenue Rumble, a bracket-style social media competition aimed at promoting local businesses. This event encourages
community members to vote for their favorite businesses in head-to-head matchups. The competition is part of a broader initiative to support local commerce, in collaboration with Miss Wisconsin Rapids 2026, Madison Graf, whose community service project 'Look Local First' aligns with the event's goals. Businesses from the Wisconsin Rapids area, including surrounding towns, are invited to participate by submitting an entry form by January 16. The first 68 businesses to register will be included in the competition. Community members can also engage by predicting the outcomes of the matchups, with the most accurate predictions winning a gift basket filled with local products.
Why It's Important?
The Rapids Revenue Rumble serves as a significant opportunity for local businesses to gain visibility and connect with the community. By fostering local engagement, the event not only boosts the profile of participating businesses but also encourages residents to support their local economy. This initiative is particularly important in the context of economic recovery efforts, as small businesses continue to face challenges in the post-pandemic landscape. The competition also highlights the role of community-driven events in strengthening local ties and promoting economic resilience. The involvement of local figures like Miss Wisconsin Rapids further underscores the community-centric approach of the event.
What's Next?
Following the registration deadline, the competition will proceed with the release of the first-round bracket, allowing community members to submit their predictions. The event will culminate in the crowning of the Rapids Revenue Rumble Champion, who will receive various promotional benefits, including a custom promotional reel and a visit from local figures. The ongoing engagement with the community through this event is expected to foster a stronger local business network and encourage continued support for local enterprises. The success of this initiative could inspire similar events in other regions, promoting local business support on a broader scale.
