Pluto Film, a Berlin-based company, has secured worldwide sales rights for the Chilean psychological thriller 'Summer War' ('Guerra de Verano'), directed by Alicia Scherson. The film is set to make its market debut at the Cannes Marché du Film and its world premiere
at the 25th Tribeca Film Festival. 'Summer War' is Scherson's fifth feature and her second adaptation of a novel by Chilean author Roberto Bolaño, following her 2013 film 'Il Futuro'. The story is set in 1989 Chile during the decline of military dictator Augusto Pinochet and follows Udo Berger, a champion of the board game Wargame, as he becomes embroiled in a mysterious disappearance at a seaside resort. The film features an international cast and is a co-production involving Chile, Uruguay, Argentina, and Italy.
