Alchemist Mint, a Rhode Island-based precious metals operation, has announced the release of a limited-edition coin made from copper removed from the Statue of Liberty during its 1984-1986 restoration. The coin, named Lady Liberty Enlightening the World,
will be the first time an original element of the statue has been transformed into a national artifact. Each coin will be octagonal, 30mm in size, and individually serialized. The coins are priced at $250, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the American Liberty Congress and other cultural and historical causes.
