CJ ENM, TBS, and U-Next have launched a new joint venture named StudioMonowa, aimed at producing and distributing Korean and Japanese drama content globally. The venture was formalized at a signing ceremony in Seoul, with top executives from all three
companies in attendance. StudioMonowa will leverage CJ ENM's expertise in K-drama production, TBS's original Japanese intellectual property (IP) pipeline, and U-Next's streaming infrastructure. The collaboration aims to cover all stages of content creation, from development to global distribution, and to extend into ancillary revenue streams. The name 'StudioMonowa' combines the Japanese words for 'story' and 'harmony', symbolizing the convergence of Korean and Japanese content. The partnership traces back to discussions initiated in April 2025 between CJ Group and TBS leadership.
