MassRobotics has announced the recipients of its 2026 Robotics Medal and Rising Star awards at the IEEE ICRA conference in Vienna. The Robotics Medal, which includes a $50,000 prize, was awarded to Dr. Allison Okamura from Stanford University for her
pioneering work in haptics, medical robotics, and robot design. Dr. Ayoung Kim from Seoul National University received the Rising Star Medal, which comes with a $5,000 prize, for her advancements in lidar place recognition and multi-sensor SLAM. These awards highlight the significant contributions of women in the field of robotics, aiming to inspire future generations. The formal award ceremony will take place at the MIT Samberg Conference Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on November 7.
