HEBI Robotics has been awarded a Phase II Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) contract by NASA to develop and test actuation hardware for space applications. The two-year project, valued at $850,000, aims to create control electronics compatible
with HEBI's platform and third-party systems, facilitating the development of flight-ready actuation technology for missions in low Earth orbit (LEO) and geosynchronous Earth orbit (GEO). HEBI's modular hardware, described as 'Lego-like,' is designed to be intuitive for research labs and industrial teams, enabling the agile production of complex robotic systems for space applications. The technology is intended to withstand harsh space environments, such as ionizing radiation and vacuum conditions, which pose challenges for traditional equipment.
