This marks the tenth consecutive quarter where deal volume has fallen below the long-term trend line. Despite this decline, OPTIS Partners suggests that the trend is likely bottoming out, with an expected stabilization at around 650 deals per year. The firm notes that the market is still driven by approximately 30 active private-equity-backed brokers and other buyers, who are targeting the 25,000 to 30,000 small agencies that will eventually need to be sold.
