What's Happening?
ProSiebenSat.1 Media has finalized the sale of its North American creator business, Studio71 US, to Fixated. The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed. This transaction includes all companies operating under the Studio71 US banner but excludes
the Studio71 business in German-speaking countries, which remains with ProSiebenSat.1. Studio71 US, originally founded in 2011 as Collective Digital Studio, became part of ProSiebenSat.1 in 2015. The company supports over 1,000 creators across social media platforms and operates a significant podcast network in North America. In 2025, Studio71 US generated revenue of €246 million ($290 million). Fixated, based in Los Angeles, has been expanding its business through acquisitions, including Ellify, Camp Talent, Elevate, and Moondust Management. The company aims to bridge traditional entertainment and the creator economy by offering talent management and content production solutions.
Why It's Important?
The sale of Studio71 US to Fixated marks a significant shift in the North American creator economy. Studio71 US is a major player in content creation and monetization, supporting a vast network of creators. This acquisition by Fixated, which is positioning itself as a leader in the creator economy, could enhance the resources and opportunities available to content creators. By integrating Studio71's extensive network and expertise, Fixated can potentially offer more comprehensive services to creators, helping them expand their reach and diversify revenue streams. This move reflects broader trends in the media industry, where traditional companies are increasingly focusing on digital-first strategies to stay competitive.
What's Next?
Following the acquisition, Fixated is expected to leverage Studio71's assets to strengthen its position in the creator economy. The company may focus on expanding its talent management and content production capabilities, potentially leading to new partnerships and collaborations within the industry. Stakeholders, including creators and advertisers, will likely monitor how Fixated integrates Studio71's operations and whether it can deliver on its promise to bridge traditional entertainment and the creator economy. The success of this integration could influence future mergers and acquisitions in the media sector, as companies seek to capitalize on the growing demand for digital content.
