What's Happening?
Nijigen no Mori Inc. has announced the relocation of the 'Monster Hunter Bridge' attraction from the Osaka Healthcare Pavilion at Expo 2025 to Hyogo Prefectural Awajishima Park in Japan. Developed by Capcom Co., Ltd., the attraction offers an immersive
experience into the 'Monster Hunter' series using AR devices, a 360° theater, and immersive sound. The attraction was highly popular at Expo 2025, drawing approximately 100,000 visitors. The relocation aims to continue promoting tourism on Awaji Island and enhance the entertainment offerings at Nijigen no Mori.
Why It's Important?
The relocation of 'Monster Hunter Bridge' to Nijigen no Mori highlights the ongoing efforts to leverage popular cultural attractions to boost local tourism. By moving this successful exhibit to a permanent location, Nijigen no Mori aims to attract more visitors to Awaji Island, contributing to the local economy. This move also reflects the growing trend of integrating technology with entertainment to create unique visitor experiences. The success of such attractions can influence future developments in theme parks and entertainment venues, encouraging more innovative uses of technology in the industry.
What's Next?
The relocation is scheduled for around fiscal year 2027, with preparations likely to involve significant logistical planning and marketing efforts to ensure a successful transition. Nijigen no Mori will need to maintain the attraction's appeal and possibly expand its offerings to keep visitors engaged. The success of this relocation could set a precedent for other temporary exhibits from international expos to find permanent homes, potentially leading to more collaborations between cultural institutions and entertainment companies.
