What's Happening?
In the Ayalon Valley, the Open Space Stables, a therapeutic riding ranch in Kfar Shmuel, marked Israel's 78th Independence Day with a unique display. The ranch, which provides therapeutic care for individuals with special needs, at-risk youth, and those
coping with PTSD, arranged their therapy horses and instructors to form the number 78. This formation symbolizes the years since Israel's founding. The farm director, Ofer Komarovsky, emphasized the role of horses as anchors for patients, especially during challenging times. The ranch has continued its operations despite the ongoing war, providing a refuge for patients dealing with ADHD, autism, and trauma related to the security situation.
Why It's Important?
The event highlights the therapeutic benefits of equine-assisted therapy, which can be crucial for individuals dealing with various psychological and emotional challenges. By using horses as a medium for therapy, the ranch offers a unique form of support that fosters resilience, trust, and stability. This approach is particularly significant in a region affected by conflict, providing a sense of normalcy and healing. The symbolic display also serves as a reminder of the country's resilience and the importance of community support in times of adversity.
