by Cartoon Saloon and other international studios, is set to premiere at the Annecy Festival in June. 'Julián' is an adaptation of the bestselling picture book 'Julián Is a Mermaid' by Jessica Love. The story follows a 7-year-old boy in Brooklyn who dreams of becoming a mermaid, inspired by his grandmother's storytelling. The film is directed by Louise Bagnall, marking her feature directorial debut, and is written by Juliany Taveras. The production involves over 150 artists from Ireland, Luxembourg, Denmark, and Canada, using hand-drawn 2D animation.
