William Brookes School in Shropshire has secured a £164,000 investment to refurbish its athletics track, which had been unable to host professional competitions for nearly two years due to its deteriorating condition. The 3-18 Education Trust, which manages the school, announced the funding, which will allow the track to regain its UK Athletics accreditation. The refurbishment is set to begin in May or June, with the aim of reopening the track for student and club use later in the year. The Wenlock Olympian Society, which organizes the local Wenlock Olympian Games, collaborated with the school to secure the track's future.
