PLDT Group's data center arm, Vitro, has announced a partnership with BBIX Philippines to establish a direct peering connection between BBIX and Vitro Internet Exchange (VIX). This collaboration aims to strengthen
the digital ecosystem in the Philippines by deploying an initial 100G network-to-network interconnection at Vitro's Makati 2 data center. The partnership is expected to expand capacity over time to accommodate traffic growth and evolving demand. The direct peering will enable more efficient traffic exchange, improving routing, reducing latency, and enhancing access to content and digital services for enterprises connected to both BBIX and VIX. Vitro's local ecosystem includes access to over 98 million internet users in the Philippines, along with a growing base of enterprises, carriers, and hyperscalers hosted within Vitro's carrier-neutral data centers.
