What's Happening?
Meta has entered into a significant agreement with Oklo, a nuclear technology company, to supply up to 1.2 gigawatts of nuclear power starting as early as 2030. This deal is part of Meta's broader initiative
to secure nuclear power for its AI ambitions, with the combined projects expected to provide up to 6.6 gigawatts of new and existing clean energy by 2035. Oklo's reactors, each producing 75 megawatts, are planned to be built in Pike County, Ohio. The company aims to bring its reactors online in the near future, contributing to the grid and supporting thousands of construction and operational jobs.
