The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) has announced a rebranding initiative, changing its name to The Metro Conference effective July 1. This decision is part of a strategic plan initiated three years ago to establish a clearer identity and eliminate
confusion with the similarly named Mid-American Conference (MAC). The rebranding effort includes a new red-and-blue logo and aims to honor the tradition and foundation of the league, which has been in existence for 45 years. The MAAC, founded in 1980, comprises 13 member schools primarily located in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. The rebranding is intended to address inconsistencies in how the conference's name was previously referenced and to better position the conference for future growth.
