What's Happening?
The Tennessee Titans have announced the release of two key players, center Lloyd Cushenberry and safety Xavier Woods. Cushenberry, who started 15 games in his second season with the Titans, joined the team in 2024 after four seasons with the Denver Broncos.
He played 99% of the offensive snaps in 2025. Woods, in his first year with the Titans, made 11 appearances and recorded two interceptions, a sack, and 39 tackles. Prior to joining Tennessee, Woods played for the Dallas Cowboys, Minnesota Vikings, and Carolina Panthers.
Why It's Important?
The release of Cushenberry and Woods signifies a strategic shift for the Titans as they look to restructure their roster. This decision could impact the team's performance and dynamics in the upcoming season. For the players, it opens opportunities to join other teams where their experience and skills could be valuable. The move may also influence the Titans' salary cap and future player acquisitions, affecting their competitiveness in the league.
