The Boston College softball team achieved a significant victory by defeating the previously undefeated North Carolina Tar Heels with a 10-2 win, concluding a three-game series in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The Tar Heels entered the game with a perfect
17-0 record, while Boston College had a 5-12 record. Junior pitcher Kelly Colleran played a crucial role, delivering a complete-game performance with two strikeouts and allowing only three hits, two walks, and two earned runs. Freshman Kae DePerio led the offensive charge with four hits, while senior Janis Espinoza, sophomore Abby Ptak, and freshman Nicole Riddell each contributed two RBIs. This victory marks Boston College's first conference win of the season.
