Tesco, a major supermarket chain, is introducing an AI assistant designed to streamline meal planning and shopping for its customers. The AI bot, integrated into the Tesco app, will assist users by suggesting personalized recipe ideas and building shopping baskets
based on dietary preferences and previous shopping history. Currently in a Beta trial phase, the assistant is being tested by approximately 280,000 Tesco employees. The AI tool aims to reduce food waste, save time, and alleviate the stress of meal planning by offering a two-way dialogue with users. Tesco has collaborated with a UK-based AI consultancy and OpenAI to develop this assistant, which is part of a broader strategy to enhance customer experience through technology.
