Renowned director Bong Joon Ho has revealed details about his upcoming animated feature film titled 'Ally'. The film, which has been in development since 2019, is set for completion in the first half of 2027 with a worldwide release planned for later
that year. 'Ally' follows the story of a piglet squid named Ally who embarks on an extraordinary journey after a mysterious aircraft sinks into her ocean home. The film explores themes of friendship and courage, set against visually stunning underwater worlds. Bong co-wrote the screenplay with Jason Yu, and the project is being produced by Seo Woo-sik with financing from CJ ENM, Penture Invest, and Pathé.
