AliveCor, a U.S.-based medtech company, has received the CE Mark for its Kardia 12L ECG system, allowing it to launch in Europe. The Kardia 12L is described as the world's first AI-powered, portable 12-lead ECG device, designed to replace traditional
10-electrode ECG carts with a more compact five-electrode, single-cable system. This device is intended for use in various healthcare settings, including primary care and home visits, where traditional ECG carts are impractical. The AI engine, KAI 12L, can detect 35 cardiac conditions, including acute myocardial infarction. Since its FDA clearance in 2024, the device has been used globally, identifying over 4,000 instances of myocardial infarction and ischaemia.
