Taylen Kinney, an incoming freshman for the Kansas Jayhawks basketball team, has been selected as one of the 12 members of the 2026 USA Basketball Men's U18 National Team. The selection was made by the USA Basketball Men's Junior National Team Committee
after a rigorous training camp held at the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Kinney, a 6-foot-2 guard from Kentucky, is expected to play a significant role as a point guard for the Jayhawks in the upcoming season. He was a standout player in the Overtime Elite program in Atlanta, where he averaged 18.8 points, 6.1 assists, and 4.8 rebounds per game. The team, led by head coach Anthony Grant, will compete in the 2026 FIBA U18 Men's AmeriCup in Leon, Mexico, from June 1-7.
