ITC has highlighted its ITCMAARS digital agriculture platform on the International Day of Plant Health. The platform features an AI-based tool called 'Crop Doctor,' which helps farmers identify crop diseases and pest infestations. Supporting up to 70
crops, the tool uses AI and machine learning-based image analytics to provide crop management recommendations. ITC reports that the tool has been used over 300,000 times, offering guidance in regional languages. The platform, launched in 2022, has reached 2.5 million farmers and 2,180 Farmer Producer Organizations across 11 states. ITC claims the initiative has led to a reduction in fertilizer use and an increase in crop yields, contributing to a rise in farm incomes.
