What's Happening?
Mackinac State Historic Parks in Michigan is offering a range of immersive experiences to celebrate America's 250th anniversary. Visitors can participate in cannon-firing programs, explore forts after hours, and join curator-led tours at Colonial Michilimackinac
and Fort Mackinac. The programs are designed to provide a hands-on connection to history, with activities such as firing black powder weapons and learning about the forts' roles during the American Revolution and the War of 1812. The parks are open from May to October, with various programs scheduled throughout the summer.
Why It's Important?
These programs offer a unique opportunity for visitors to engage with American history in an interactive and educational way. By participating in these activities, visitors can gain a deeper understanding of the historical significance of the Mackinac region and its role in shaping the nation.
