A recent study published in the journal Mindfulness reveals that even brief meditation sessions can significantly impact brain function. Researchers analyzed EEG brain wave data from 103 participants practicing
isha yoga breath watching, a meditation technique focusing on natural breathing. The study found that within two to three minutes, participants of all experience levels exhibited brain wave changes indicative of a more relaxed state. This research, led by neuroscientist Balachundhar Subramaniam from Harvard Medical School, aims to lower the barrier to entry for meditation by providing evidence of its immediate benefits.
