What's Happening?
Bourbon, an offshore services provider, has expanded its fleet with 13 vessels valued at over $180 million since the start of 2026. This expansion includes the acquisition of six diesel-electric vessels from the Minsheng Group and two large-capacity PSVs
from ICBC. Additionally, Bourbon reactivated two 80-ton diesel-electric AHTS vessels and took delivery of the Bourbon Evolution 810, a newbuild vessel for deepwater operations. The company also deployed two 27-meter crew boats for a five-year contract in Africa. This strategic move aims to enhance Bourbon's capabilities in the oil, gas, and wind sectors.
Why It's Important?
Bourbon's fleet expansion is a significant development in the offshore services industry, reflecting the growing demand for modern and efficient vessels. By investing in new and reactivated vessels, Bourbon is positioning itself to better serve the oil, gas, and wind sectors, which are critical to global energy supply. This move not only strengthens Bourbon's market position but also supports its long-term growth strategy. The expansion is expected to improve operational efficiency and profitability, benefiting stakeholders and potentially leading to increased market share.
