What's Happening?
Thermal Grizzly has unveiled an experimental direct-die CPU block at Computex 2026, featuring diamond sheets for enhanced thermal conductivity. The block, designed for AM5 processors like the Ryzen 9 9950X, uses Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) diamonds,
which offer thermal conductivity up to 2200 W/mK, significantly higher than traditional copper. Despite its superior performance, the high cost of the diamond inserts, approximately €500 each, makes it unlikely to reach the consumer market. This project highlights the potential for advanced materials in cooling technology, although it remains a personal project for the company.
