The University of Louisville's football program has successfully secured a verbal commitment from Cornelius Tims III, a defensive lineman from Fort Myers, Florida, for their 2027 recruiting class. Tims,
who stands at 6-foot-4 and weighs 285 pounds, was identified early by Louisville's defensive line coach Mark Ivey, with the university being the first to offer him a scholarship in May 2025. Despite not being nationally ranked, Tims attracted interest from several power conference schools, including Boston College, Kansas, Syracuse, UCF, and West Virginia, and had visited Miami. In his junior year, Tims recorded 71 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, six sacks, and a forced fumble, contributing to his high school team's 7-4 record and their appearance in the FHSAA Class 41 quarterfinals. Tims is the sixth recruit to join Louisville's 2027 class, which is already ranked in the top 15 nationally.
