What's Happening?
The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, known for its vibrant atmosphere and iconic imagery, prominently features the La Grande XL Ferris wheel. This structure, with its 36 air-conditioned gondolas,
has become a staple of the festival since its debut in 2017, replacing the original La Grande Wheel. Operated by Ray Cammack Shows, the Ferris wheel is transported to Indio, California, each year on 20 semitrucks and assembled by a team of 10 over five days. Unique to Coachella and the Stagecoach Country Music Festival, the wheel features a custom logo of a palm tree and a roadrunner, which lights up at night, adding to the festival's distinctive desert backdrop. The wheel is not only a visual icon but also a popular attraction, with hundreds of thousands of festivalgoers having ridden it over the years.
